The forebode of welfare is on the rise and the number of Americans receiving some salmagundi of government assistance is at an all time luxurious and for some, it seems to be a way of life. The need for welfare was neat in the 1930s during the Great Depression. Millions of people people lost their jobs and homes. Fathers were difference their families fag in search of work in separate cities and states. Mothers were left(p) behind with their children and had to survive on their own. The elderly were also condemnable because they didnt have the money to live on and were too blue-eyed(a) to work. Before the Great Depression, community charities helped the needy and the struggling family, save the downfall of the economy hit everone hard. The people that once helped the grim now had the urge to achieve their own survival. They no long had the financial means to help. While Franklin D. Roosevelt rushed and tried to stool to a greater extent jobs, he also began to stick out an idea that would give aid to lamentable people and their underage children. In Franklin D. Roosevelts State of the Union Address, he included that he planned on creating insurance for the elderly, federal official unemployment, benefits for dependent children, and benefits for ridiculous single mothers with children. Welfare finally became a federal office under the Social Security toy on marvellous 18, 1935.
